I love me some Alan Wake. Due to this love, I was pretty excited when the XBLA joint Alan Wake: American Nightmare dropped last month. It wasn’t a full-on sequel, but it appeased the glands. The juicy Wake glands. Temporarily. Now that there’s news that the developers behind this series are hiring for some next-gen shiz, I’m the excite. Could it be? A real sequel?

Here’s a rumor upside your head: the next Xbox isn’t going to have a disc drive. Yep. Well, I mean, yep as in that’s the rumor. Do I buy it? Not at all.

When I think of a new Xbox, my groin swells and I get lightheaded. Xbot!, reporting for duty. Newest rumor? Microsoft is seeing Nintendo a Kinect, and raising them a new touchscreen controller.

Microsoft is continuing to push their Console-As-Set-Top-Box. They have FiOS access currently, they’re adding Xfinity soon, and if these patents are being interpreted correctly, their next console will double as a DVR.

Say what you will about all the motion bullshit gadgetry that has been birthed out of the bleeding anus where gaming ingenuity used to be. It’s prolonged the generation. That kids, is a fucking good thing. However, everything comes to an end. This generation’s cycle is no exception, and Microsoft has begun hiring engineers to work on their next Box.
