‘X-Files’ creator Chris Carter developing AREA 51 show for AMC.
How long after a creator’s pinnacle moment is it fair to still get excited about them? Or is it prudent? The adolescent fanboy in me is really excited that Chris Carter is doing a show based on Area 51. But then I count the years since I’ve given a fuck about anything he’s done and realize I should probably not get too excited.
Opinions Vary: Monsters of the Week Episodes F**king Rule
A couple of weeks ago I was yanking purple-tip to Almost Human’s premiere. It was jazzy, I was jazzed, my underoos were sticky but stern. (What does that even mean?) In the middle of my fluids-flinging, our own incalculably talented J-Hawtsauce pointed out that he had a hard time swallowing the episode orders that network television demanded. The good sir lamented the puffed-up nature that having to bring twenty-four (or so) episodes to bare every season can produce on a show.
At the time I claimed that I didn’t have a problem with what were essentially procedural television shows with a science-fiction tinge. After all, I love the X-Files, Fringe titillates me, and since I’m lazy and don’t feel like thinking I’ll nominate Battlestar Galactica as (a stretch of) an example.
Monsters of the week episodes rule! (Sort of.)
AMAZON orders TV Pilots from ‘X-FILES’ CREATOR CHRIS CARTER & ‘THE WIRE’ writer
Amazon continues to attempt to bring original content to their streaming service that comes with Amazon Prime. Ya’ll know they’re staring at Netflix’s success and just self-flaggelating in a puddle of their own existence. Their newest attempt features a pilot from my boy Chris Carter.
Area 51: Not Aliens, Just Super Spyplane Experiments.
National Geographic is trying to blow the asshole open on Area 51 by big pimpin’ some declassified documents, as well as some sexy pictures of the A-12 spyplane. Pretty righteous, but you can’t trick me.
The Lone Gunmen. Word.
I was watching the Sex Files II trailer (it’s SFW) when I saw their analog of the Lone Gunmen. And I remember how fucking cool these guys were. I totally wanted to play Team Fortress with them back in the day while they unraveled conspiracies and shit. Never forget!
