Dexter Showrunner Talks About Season Finale Shocker and Show’s End Game.
The last minute or so of this season of Dexter was really the only thang I enjoyed about the entire enterprise. I’m hoping they’ll ride the shocker into a final two seasons of the show that rock my Casbah, and comments from Dexter’s showrunner have me keeping the faith. Loosely.
THIS WEEK ON Dexter: This is the Way the World Ends
It only took nearly twelve episodes, but something dope finally happened on Dexter. As the door swung shut on the season the writers decided to throw us starving wolves a grizzled piece of meat to gnash our teeth on for ten months or so. It only took nearly twelve episodes, but the writers have delivered a trajectory for the final two seasons. Incestuous complications and abject horrifying revelations await those of us who will return from this season – an exercise in apathy – and hope for greener pastures as the Bay Harbor Butcher and his brother-lusting sister complete their journey through the wilds of Miami Metro.

Dexter’s ‘End Game’ Towards Series Finale Begins In Final Two Episodes Of This Season. Hell Yeah.
Dexter. Sort of a bore these days. You know nothing truly terrible can happen to the Morgan. The whole show feels like its been in a holding pattern, waiting to be waived in. Bored fans, rejoice. The final descent into the Bay Harbor Butcher begins soon.
THIS WEEK ON Dexter: Sin of Omission
It’s going to be hard to weep for dumb ass Dexter in two seasons when the show concludes. With a crying Deb laying over his splattered skullcap, cursing the Nefarious Fates for weaving such a tale, I won’t weep with her. As the season continues trudging towards its somewhat blasé ending, one thing is becoming painstakingly clear. Dexter is a douchebag.
THIS WEEK ON Dexter: Nebraska
Dexter rolled out this week with his bro 4 life, and afterlife. It was a switch I didn’t see coming. If this was an RPG, it would be a totally arduous but ultimately rewarding side-quest. It didn’t add to the main narrative, but it was an interesting sojourn. Plus!, the loot was fantastic. Dexter gained two talent points that he could place in Sanity, which is clutch.
AMC Renews ‘Walking Dead’ For A Third Season. Fanboys/girls > Quality.
The Walking Dead isn’t a good show. It’s not! It was awesome. Then it was awful. This season it’s been tepid. Hopefully it’ll figure itself out and return to its (short, short) glory days. AMC has announced the show will have even longer to find its stride again, renewing it for a third season.
THIS WEEK ON The Walking Dead: Bloodletting.
This week’s episode starts with a flashback. It takes place on the same day that Rick gets shot. Initially this scene disturbed me. Not because I’m emotionally invested in the characters. Not because I felt for Lori as she has to tell Carl that his dad was shot, and then explain the possible consequences. Its because I don’t want Walking Dead to be like LOST. I don’t want flashbacks.
THIS WEEK ON Dexter: A Horse of a Different Color.
Quite often the efficacy of the sidekick is downplayed. They are relegated to pure ancillary uses. You know, serving to wipe down your bloodstains, do the laborious bone sawing. The grunt word of the serial killer underworld. Let us make no mistakes about it, every serial killer aspires to one day have their own lackey. It’s understandable. They’re clutch though, and if you’re going to take a sidekick into your underworld of Blood and Gloom the best advice I can give you is this. Choose carefully. Your enterprise rides on it.
Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Is Going To Be A TV Show? Mythos Rewrite A-Go-Go.
Frank Castle is a guy who has never crushed it in movie form. Maybe he’ll receive some sort of filmic redemption once his story is told on television. But if he does, it’ll be through a strongly different story.
