‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ pushed back to December 15, 2017
Those of us like me who have been counting down to Episode VIII are going to need to add a couple hundred days to the counter. The sequel to The Force Awakens has been pushed back from May to December of 2017. Me? I’m fine with this for a couple of reasons. First off: give the people involved the most time possible to put out the highest quality product. Second off: having Star Wars hitting around Christmas time every year makes an already special season glow just a bit more. So hey. I’m not particularly devastated. It will make its arrival just that much sweeter.
Watch/Listen: Kylo Ren covers Rey’s theme from ‘The Force Awakens’ on the violin
I’m all about this.
‘Star Wars’ spin-off has shortlist of actors to play Young Han Solo
The impossible task of filling the shoes of a Young Han Solo is coming to an end. Or, at least, they’re going to cast Young Han Solo. I don’t know if the actor will be able to fill the shoes. Like I said, impossible.
Poe Dameron Body Pillows are coming; The uh, *Something* Awakens
I love living in a Universe where Poe Dameron body pillows are a real thing. Like, really real. I’ll take two – one for the wife, one for me (though, I think she’d prefer a General Hux variant).
Watch: ‘Star Wars’ LEGO sets exploding at 3,000 frames per second
Some people just want to watch the LEGO World Burn, right?
Monday Morning Commute: For my ally is The Force
It’s time, folks. The Force is almost upon us. And after waiting for years for this Grand Revival to arrive, a surreal feeling of serenity has struck me. This desired event is so soon that it borders on incomprehensible. It has devolved out of an Upcoming Event and into some Abstract Potentiality that I cannot come to grips with. In a little over three days, on Thursday at 7pm, I’m going to be experiencing a new Star Wars.
This is Monday Morning Commute. Where I share what I’m looking forward to during a given week, and then you return in kind with your own happenings. This week is obvious: The Force Awakens and Everything Else. But fuck, I’ll list all of my anticipations for you.
Weekend Open Bar: il faut imaginer Sisyphe heureux, Hawkguy
This is Weekend Open Bar. Where we get together and share what we are up to during a given weekend. What we are going to watch, eat, play, contemplate. Here, let me share.
I have felt like a Man Unmoored this year. Not Billy Pilgrim levels, but close. Ian Omega has come unstuck in Existence. I am a man of routine, I find comfort in it. Every day I stop at the same convenience store on the way to work. I buy the same exact thing. Every weekend morning I take the same car ride, before going to the gym. I enjoy doing the same exact thing every Saturday with Bateman. I like familiarity. I like the banal. I am a boring man, but it works for me.
