The incredible science-fiction artist Syd Mead has passed away at the age of 86.
If you love science-fiction, you love Syd Mead. And even if you don’t, you’re probably familiar with dude’s work. Unfortunately, said dude has sloughed the mortal coil at the age of 86.

I haven’t read any John Scalzi. And I know that’s probably a personal flaw. But I love any renowned sci-fi writer in this day and age scoring those kind of lucrative contract. Rock on, Scalzi. Keep up the good fight. #PlatitudePlatitude

Hey, folks! Johnny here, back again for another week of slingin’ philosophical about my favorite pastime! Looking at this week’s releases, I was amazed at just how much great non-superhero fare there is to be read currently. Not in a long time have I felt that the variety of books is SO great and SO varied, that it is the perfect time to introduce comics to friends and loved ones who might like comics, but maybe just don’t dig capes. I’m insane in my geeklust for William Gibson. Totally bananas. He is my God. Everyone knows by now that the dude created the term ‘cyberspace’ and that he imagined a distant future while writing Neuromancer on a friggin’ typewriter. Now we know where he got the inspiration for the word that’s come to worm itself into our Collective Unconscious. Arcades.
