(Fave) Cyberpunk novel ‘Altered Carbon’ is becoming Netflix series
Holy fuck. Altered Carbon is one of my favorite novels of the last…ten years? Cyberpunk detective noir? (Which may be redundant?) And now it appears that the novel is becoming a television series courtesy of Netflix.
‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Teaser Trailer! Plus! A poster! And! Season premiering March 18!
1) I cannot fucking wait. 2) It appears the show *is not* going “head to head” (our own Neo pointed out it really wouldn’t be much of a competition) with BatGuy vs SuperBrooder, dropping a week earlier.
David Fincher and Charlize Theron’s project ‘Mind Hunter’ picked up by Netflix
Apparently David Fincher has a long gestating project with Charlize Theron! Who knew! Doubly apparently, this project has toiled away in development hell for a good long while, but it is finally going to gain traction.
Netflix’s ‘Iron First’ show has landed its showrunner
Showrunners! They are important, man. They can make a series fantastic, man. Or condemn it to assitude. Just like, you know, compare Noah Hawley to Nic Pizzolatto. So Iron Fist landing its showrunner may be equally important to the quality of its show as it landing its lead, and the show has done just that. The person running the show? Scott Buck.
Netflix bringing new Bob Odenkirk movie to theaters
Bob Odenkirk fucking owns. Owns on Mr. Show, owns on BreakingBetterCallSaulBad, owns on the first season of Fargo. Among other efforts. Soon! Soon, Bob Odenkirk is going to be owning in theaters, in the film Girlfriend’s Day. Thanks to Netflix!
Netflix funding director Bong Joon-Ho’s (‘Snowpiercer’) next movie
Snowpiercer was dope. Maybe not worth the effusive accolades the internet slathered about its robust chest, praising it and rubbing, praising it and rubbing. But dope. And so I’m glad to see that someone is stepping up to funding director Bong Joon-Ho’s next movie.
Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘The Neon Demon’ picked up by Amazon for theater distribution and streaming
The war between Netflix and Amazon continues. The former snagged the rights to Beasts of No Nation this year, and Amazon has answered by procuring the rights to the next Winding Refn jam.
