MICHAEL ROOKER of ‘WALKING DEAD’ fame joins ‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.’ Ragtag group like woah.

Michael Rooker.

I’m beginning to get interested about this Guardians of the Galaxy flick. Rendar keeps telling me it is going to be Marvel’s first great flop, and it might be. Yet even if it falls down on its wildly esoteric face, between the director and the absurd collection of characters populating the cast, I’m intrigued. The latest duder to become a guardian is that white trash guy from AMC’s Arguing around Zombies

CAPTAIN AMERICA’S NEW COSTUME for second flick got the SECRET AVENGERS swagger.

Feels weird to call something a dude in the military is running around in a “costume.” Yet, that’s what we are up to right here. There is a good chance that Captain America’s costume-outfit-garb from Cap 2: Bro I Love You, Bucky has leaked. If the image in question is true then the outfit bares a resemblance to the outfit Rogers wore a couple of years ago as he was slinging missions in Top Secret Avengers Team 27.

Robert Redford confirmed as HEAD OF S.H.I.E.L.D in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’

Redford.

It looks like we’re about to have one of those wacky Nick Fury goes rogue stories or the such, following the events of Avengers 2. How else do explain that Robert Redford is going to be the head of S.H.I.E.L.D in Cap 2: Bucky’s Bionic Arm?

WARREN ELLIS dropping ‘AVENGERS: ENDLESS WARTIME’ graphic novel with Mike McKone.

Endless Wartime.

Well, now I know what Warren Ellis has been up to. You know, when he isn’t penning mediocre detective novels and neglecting Doktor Sleepless. The favorite writer of mine has been slaving away on an original Avengers graphic novel. And yeah, while I’m pretty excited for it, I really wish he was spending this time and energy giving me more Doktor. Please. I beg you Warren. More Doktor.

This week’s COMIXOLOGY BLACKOUT confirms my fears over service.

Shock. Awe.

Real talk: I fucking adore comiXology. In a world where my LCS lets Rendar and me down every week, it has arrived like a beautiful bastard upon a stunning stallion. Lending me its hand, it murmurs in my ears the promises of taking me to a world where comic books are accessible. However, I have some reservations. Unlike Amazon and B&N’s proprietary services, there is no way to access your files. They’re intangible intangibles, and this is concerning. What if comiXology goes out of business? Or what if – say – Marvel breaks their servers?

Doom!

I will continue using comiXology. It’s convenient, the comics look great in HD. However, they should let us consumers hold our files in our own hands.

Hit the break for Corey Blake’s far more eloquent interrogation of the problem.

Marvel promising another HUGE EVENT THING with ‘MARVEL #1’ teaser. Yawn.

#1 OR SOMETHING.

Oh shit! Be prepared. It is almost Spring, which means that it is almost time for Marvel to launch their year OMFG no seriously this is serious Spring into Summer Mega Event. Steel yourself, as the Status Quo quivers under the notion that the Status Quo is actually Shaking Up the State Quo. (Wait, what?)

Joss Whedon calls ‘S.H.I.E.L.D’ show ‘VERY HOPEFUL’, I fear a Skrull impersonator.

Joss Whedon.

Joss Whedon has dared to call one of his shows “very hopeful”, inadvertantly exposing the fact that his existence has been taken over by a Skrull impersonator.

CHRIS PRATT is starring in ‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.’ I can dig it!

Chris Pratt is holding it down.

I love me some Chris Pratt, almost exclusively due to his performances in Parks & Rec. That said, he was good enough in Zero Dark Thirty, and apparently he is in Billy Beaner is Really Smartz. So him being cast as the lead in Guardians of the Galaxy is officially marks the moment where I begin getting excited for the flick.

Watch: Paolo Rivera draws a ‘DAREDEVIL’ COVER IN 11 minutes. Time-lapse++

Daredevil #22.

Pretty outstanding video by one of my favorite artists hanging in the Marvel game, right here. Paolo Rivera has shared with the world a video of him rocking out the cover to Daredevil #22. Particularly awesome is how the video lets you see how the artist uses his own poses for reference when drawing the characters. I knew he did such a thing, but it is entertaining to all of a sudden see a picture of Rivera juxtaposed with the Webbed One.
