#June2015
Samuel Jackson is not in ‘Captain America: Civil War’, doesn’t know why. Wants contract extension.
One of the biggest, most looming personalities in the MCU is going to be absent from Captain America: Civil War. And the man himself has no fucking clue why. I have, I have to hope there is a narrative explanation for this, and it isn’t Marvel not wanting to pay the actor. Shit. Even if their is a narrative explanation for the absence, I have a hard time swallowing it.
‘Captain Ameirca: Civil War’ Set Photos: Crossbones and Cap throwin’ down
I’m a bit more cavalier about covering Captain America: Civil War set-photos that I am other properties. For some reason I don’t approach spoilers in adaptations of known comic book stories with the same reservation as I do other properties. For better or worse. So yeah, I’m digging these set-photos. And I’m sweating this flick.
‘Captain America: Civil War’ Set Photos: Crossbones, Cap, Falcon!
Pretty fucking self-explanatory. If you want to see early images of Crossbones, Cap, and Falcon, hit the jump. If you don’t wanna, stay ye hand. Teaser: Crossbones looks fucking awesome.
‘Captain America’ writers to pen ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ script
This. Is concerning to me. I love The Winter Soldier. But what I also love (loved?) about the MCU was that it was a diversified set of directors lending their own vision and aesthetic to the Universe. And now? Now it just sort of feels like it is the Russo Brothers and their writers’ show.
Martin Freeman joins ‘Captain America: Civil War,’, I officially worry
Martin Freeman has joined Captain America: Dawn of Justice. I’m fatigued. I tap. The solo movies were supposed to be a respite from the mania of the Avengers movies. And now this flick seems corporate-designed to compete with the upcoming Batman v. Superman. While it may end up being awesome, I’m beginning to worry about a) my own feelings towards superhero movies and b) the future of the MCU.
Downey Jr. says big movie announcement coming in eight days, drops Iron Man character poster for ‘AoU’
Robert Downey Jr hung a double-whammy on the masses today. First the actor dropped an Iron Man character poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Neat enough, right? But then the good lad followed up that magnanimity up by announcing…a Marvel announcement. Apparently Marvel Studios is dropping some announcement in eight days, and like. If this isn’t web-shooter related, I’ll be shocked.
Marvel Studios shuffles four movie release dates in wake of Marvel Studios/Sony Spider-Pact
Now that Marvel Studios sort of/kind of own Spider-Man, they certainly aren’t going to cannibalize their own sales. In order to prevent themselves from doing this though, the studio finds themselves having to push around some release dates.
