Rumor: The ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ video game remake is totally still happening. Sure, sure.
We’ve been hearing about a Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic video game remake forever. For-ev-er. And, once again, the rumor winds bring news of it happening.
‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ movie is in development, confirms another report
Last month it was reported that those chucklefucks that buried Game of Thrones are working on a Knights of the Old Republic movie. And now? While it may not (or may be!) them, there definitely is a KOTOR movie happening.
Maybe: ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Made ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ Canon Again
So, like, is KOTOR canon again? If you read into a line from Star Wars Rebels, then, yes! And most likely? I’m thinking so. Ever since Lucasfilm issued forth that post-sale-to-Disney “Legends” dismissal of canon, they’ve been bringing certain elements back into the fold. With Knights of the Old Republic being so goddamn loved, it would make sense to reintegrate it into the current mythos.
Fans are remaking ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’
Apparently fans are doing what no one at BioWare (or a third-party BioWare could whore the project out to) seems interested in doing: remaking Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I mean, it seems like a license to print money. Doesn’t it? But hey — these folk are doing it on the free.
Drew Karpyshyn, writer of the original ‘Mass Effect’, has returned to BioWare
Welcome back, Drew Karpyshyn! You are the writer of the original Mass Effect, and a lad who had spent a long time with BioWare. You wandered off, and realized how good you had it at your former employer. Now you’ve returned. Wizened. Grateful. Homesick. Us BioWare fans are happy to have you back, too.
New BIOWARE FRANCHISE coming from ‘KOTOR’ and ‘MASS EFFECT’ creators. Bio-Boner.
It’s neat enough that the Gears of Bro: Judging You producer is helming the Mass Effect franchise. It’s even neater that this is freeing up the creators of the series to strike out into a new franchise. A new world! A whole new world, filled with dialogue choices and reputation systems!
