James Gunn futzing loves the ‘Ant-Man’ movie
The initial reports out of Ant-Man were that it was, surprisingly, an enjoyable flick to most. Being a Marvel fanboy, I took this to mean I would like it (to some extent). And now the director of my favorite Marvel movie has come out in support of the film. Granted, what’s he going to do? Bash a movie from the studio that is supporting him? Probably not. But the level, and forcefulness of his support makes me optimistic.

James Gunn seems fucking down with the Marvel Process, man. Whereas it has burned out other directors (understandably), Gunn seems committed to riding the Guardians all the way through a complete trilogy. As someone who loved GotG, this fucking excites me. Recently, Gunn spoke about his longterm plan for the Band of Assholes.

GoTG ain’t even hit the theaters yet, but that hasn’t stopped Marvel from planning for the sequel. The next installment in the franchise is hitting in three years, and it’ll be helmed by the same Jimmy Gunn. Provided the first movie is as fucking dope as it seems, this is all most-gnarly news.
