‘Sesame Street’ is moving to HBO. Apparently the directions there require premium cable
Sesame Street is moving to HBO, and I can’t help but feel like that sucks. Taking such a wonderful show for children available on PBS and putting it behind a paywall feels like a green-tinted shade of capitalist bullshit! Just saying.
Bill Simmons is getting his own HBO show
Bill Simmons has given the pop culture landscape a lot. I admit that, acknowledge it. And move on from it. ‘Cause he’s also the maestro of bloviating, crappy pop culture references, and other nonsense. So I don’t really give a fuck about him moving to HBO on a personal level, but it’s interesting as far as Pop Culture Developments go.
HBO’s David Simon show starring Oscar Isaac, ‘Show Me a Hero’, premiering in August
Bruh. Bruh! How did I not know about this? Oscar Isaac? David Simon? HBO? The year of Oscar rolls the fuck onward!
HBO launching standalone service. VALHALLA ARRIVES.
HBO is finally givin’ motherfuckers what they been clamoring for. Pleading for. Beating fists upon gravel and demanding. An internet-based HBO service that ain’t tied to a cable subscription.
‘TRUE DETECTIVE’ Creator: Can’t Imagine Show Lasting Over Three Seasons
This site has already documented the news that getting True Detective season two off the ground is an arduous as fuck process. So it really isn’t surprising that the show’s creator Nick Pizzajaredletto has come out and said he can’t imagine the jam going more than three seasons. That is, until the HBO Monster unleashes what we around the asylum call the Equalizer. You know: a fucking fuck load of cash.
HBO shows going to AMAZON PRIME. ‘Cept like no ‘THRONES’, man.
Great news, Amazon Prime customers! (Hi!). Well, except for those Amazon Prime customers who have HBO (Hi!). The Prime Service has signed a deal with the Home Box Office to bring a litany of shows to their streaming service. The only caveat? Some select fucking shows aren’t offered. Like you know. Thrones. And True Detective. #SMH as they say.
J.K. Rowling’s first “adult novel” is getting HBO MINISERIES.
J.K. Rowling news up in the heezy! The house! The hacienda! The author’s first “adult novel” (scare quotes to call attention to the somewhat nebulous term) is getting a miniseries courtesy of HBO. Not having read the book, I am still at least intrigued given the author and network.
‘GAME OF THRONES’ returning in April. Bless the God of Wine…and other things.
Well fuck me sideways! Game of Thrones has a return date. This means I’m going to have to finally conjure the fortitude to watch the last three episodes of season three. I mean — I read the book. But that ain’t having read ain’t the same as having seen The Red. You know?
‘GAME OF THRONES’ GAME Teaser Trailer: Polygons Are Coming
Hey man, whatever. The reservoir of “Winter Is Coming” jokes dried up a long, long, long time ago. None the less, Telltale Games is making an episodic game series based off of Dragons and Incest.
Hit the jump for the teaser trailer.
NETFLIX has most likely OVERTAKEN HBO in PAID US Subscriptions
Am I speaking for everyone when I say that all I really care about regarding this news is how it may or may not force HBO to offer up a detached, HBO Go-style service for us all? No, some of you don’t give a shit? Then uh — I’m totally enjoying watching the relative New Kid put the Old Dinosaur in a head lock. This is that portion of the story that I can get behind as well.
Or something.
