Geoff Johns is now officially President of DC Entertainment
You know, I generally don’t like Geoff Johns. Find the dude hackneyed. But, that said, I really enjoyed all of the DCU’s showings this past weekend at SDCC. So, yeah, I’m going to go ahead and be excited about the news that he’s officially the President of DC Entertainment. Dude has helped them turn a corner. Hopefully.
Geoff Johns wants DC Movies to have “Hope and Optimism” going forward
One day into his reign as the creative head of DC Films, and Geoff Johns has already garnered more trust from me than in all the dark, dark days of Snyder running the show combined. I mean, it may blow up in my face. But so far, dude is saying all the right things.
Confirmed: Ben Affleck writing and directing solo ‘Batman’ movie
We all knew this was coming. Or hoping for, at least. Now it’s confirmed.
Warner Bros. has set dates for Two Mystery DC Films for 2018 and 2019
Warner Bros. has set the dates for two as-of-yet-hyphen-unannounced-hyphen-DC films. If one of these fucking films isn’t a Solo BatFleck movie…well, I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked. Since, you know, comma, DC, comma, hasn’t done anything that has made sense to me yet.
Amber Heard is cast in ‘Justice League’ and ‘Aquaman’ as Hera. God is Good.
Amber Heard has been cast into the DCU? I was going to see the movies anyways because I’m a loser fanboy but gosh — this gets the old fanboy loins a boiling.
Rumor: Chris Pine is Hal Jordan in ‘Green Lantern’ movie; WB wants multiple Lanterns
Wasn’t this already a rumor? What’s Old Rumor has become New Rumor again. Which, I guess, sort of validates said rumor? IDFK.
Dwayne Johnson: ‘Shazam’ movie could be released early
The Rock is teasing us folks, hinting that his Shazam movie could be released earlier than scheduled. Hmm. I’m torn between my near-militant disdain for the DCU and my near-zealot level of love for The Rock.
‘Wonder Woman’ movie gets new director in Patty Jenkins
Patty Jenkins. She has crossed the war lines! Once she was up to direct Thor 2, and now she’s going to be helming the Wonder Woman flick.
‘Wonder Woman’ movie loses director Michelle MacLaren
It appears that the Wonder Woman movie is back on the market for a director.
