‘BOARDWALK EMPIRE’ star Charlie Cox is totally MARVEL’S ‘DAREDEVIL’
I don’t know Charlie Cox outside of Stardust, but I enjoyed the dude in that flick. Many people assuredly enjoy him in Boardwalk Empire. So here’s hoping I enjoy him as Matt Murdock.
STEVEN S. DEKNIGHT is the new ‘DAREDEVIL’ SHOWRUNNER
It hasn’t taken long for the Marvel Machinery to conjure up a replacement showrunner for their Daredevil show on Netflix. Like, what, forty-eight hours? Even that? The turnstiles continue rotating. Drew Goddard out! Steven S. DeKnight in!
DREW GODDARD leaving ‘DAREDEVIL’ TV Show.
LOOK AT THE IMAGE. THINGS ARE SERIOUS. MARVEL IS IN TROUBLE!!!!~!!! Naw, I’m fucking around. Not fretting that much. And yet. Well, when it rains, it pours. And it’s currently pouring ill-fated piss all over Marvel’s face this weekend. Drew Goddard has thrown the deuces up and left the company’s Daredevil TV show. This seems more a case of the dude having too much to do. And while it’s a shame, shoutout to my hyperbolic header image for not really capturing how I feel about it. Which is more of a shrug and a “dang.”
Marvel filming 60 HOUR-LONG NETFLIX EPISODES in New York
Talk about an endeavor! Marvel is intending to film sixty fucking hour-long episodes in the City of New York. That’s a lot of episodes smelling like homeless people grilling on the grates at Times Square and pizza. Naw — just kidding — snark power down! — this is a pretty impressive attempt.
Cosplay: You had me at ELEKTRA. Pale beauty of death
Elektra! Is she alive right now in the MU? Is she dead? Dead but sentient? Alive but not sentient? I can’t keep tabs. Anyways, here’s some stunning cosplay feature Miss Natchios.
Buy These Flippin’ Comics!!! Special Edition – Best Comics We Missed in 2013!
Admittedly, I don’t get out much. More often than not I can be found in the bowels of Spaceship Omega, hiberbating in my nanotumblr chrysalis-tomb, forever scrolling through pictures of Kate Upton and 80’s pop-culture ephemera. Time well spent, to be sure, but it also keeps me well behind the game – the game in this instance being knowledge of all the greatest media the current year in pop culture has to offer. Oh sure, I know about the Sagas, Infinities, Prophets, and X-Menonites, they big guys, but what have I let slip through the cracks? What great funnybooks have I failed to verse myself in, and in turn, failed bringing to you guys? These past couple weeks I’ve shed the nano-skin, hopped in actual clothing and went outside to the local brick and mortar to find some of the best and brightest books I was missing out on in 2013. Wanna know what I found? Hit the jump and read on, kids!
DREW GODDARD officially RUNNING THE THE ‘DAREDEVIL’ Netflix Series
Yum!, yum, yum! What be that taste? Delicious Daredevil stew! Yup! Let it roll down your gullet and into your soulll. Man, this wine is hitting me hard. Waituhsouhwait — what is going on here? Oh yes. Drew Goddard is officially helming the Daredevil series for Netflix, and this is a small win for everyone. Except for the Kingpin. That fat fuck totally, like, laments any success that Murdock has.
‘DAREDEVIL’ NETFLIX SERIES to be penned by ‘CABIN IN THE WOODS’ WRITER Drew Goddard.
Well fuck me sideways! On a rooftop! In a Daredevil costume. This is rad as fuck. The mind behind (well, one of the minds) Cabin in the Woods is going to be helming the Daredevil series for Netflix.
MARVEL and NETFLIX TEAMING UP FOR *FOUR* LIVE-ACTION SERIES. DEFENDERS, GET.
Holy amaze-balls. Marvel and Netflix are teaming up to bring into the world four live-action series starring Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. That ain’t all, folks! All of these sonsofbitches will culminate in a Defenders event.
This rules.
Watch: Paolo Rivera draws a ‘DAREDEVIL’ COVER IN 11 minutes. Time-lapse++
Pretty outstanding video by one of my favorite artists hanging in the Marvel game, right here. Paolo Rivera has shared with the world a video of him rocking out the cover to Daredevil #22. Particularly awesome is how the video lets you see how the artist uses his own poses for reference when drawing the characters. I knew he did such a thing, but it is entertaining to all of a sudden see a picture of Rivera juxtaposed with the Webbed One.
