Hnng. Fiona Staples artwork is lovely. Dare I say, nonpareil? I just wanted to use that word. Probably incorrectly, too. So uh whatever. Anyways! There is an article in Time Magazine about Saga, and the brilliant Staples cut a little bit of awesome artwork for the commemoration.

I’ve been seeing my “ex” behind OL’s back. In fact, I never left my ex. I know I told you guys we could come here and talk comics in lieu of going mobile and hitting up your local comic shop, but I just couldn’t stay away. I love my comic shop, but I dig you guys, too! So, if you’ll still have me, I’m gonna try and spread that love (and opinions on my favorite books this week) at both joints, and I urge you to do the same! Sally-fucking-forth, comic nerds!
In fact, do me a favor and give a shout out to your LCS. They deserve the attention. Comic Book University in Greenwood, IN is where I hang my pull list. Good folks who keep the new releases well stocked and the snark to a loving 11. (Also: ComiXology has a “virtual store” for participating joints, so that they, too, can get in on the digital-age action. So make sure you ask your LCS if they’re involved. It sends some coin their way and is at no additional cost to you, the consumer.)

I fell in love with Faryl Dalrymple with his work on Prophet, and I have been following the good sir since. The only problem is the duder is prolific as fuck. Good luck hunting down all his sheezy! Good news for scrubs like me, though. Dalrymple is getting his own collection this September.

It’s intriguing, because I have lately been wrestling with my own contempt for the printed formula while simultaneously jacking it to the cinematic flavor. What would I be missing if I got off the comic book Ferris Wheel?
‘MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’ PROMO #1: Coulson and friends GET WEIRD
Here is a fairly unexciting debut trailer for ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. You have Coulson (and while it is antithetical to say, I don’t really care about him) and friends tackling strange events and stuff. My guess? Superhero procedural. I’ll be there, even if I am fairly apathetic towards this first glimpse.
