‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Graces Empire Magazine With Two Covers. Bat-Schwing.
Empire Magazine is apparently swinging out with a The Dark Knight Rises story, and the covers to the magazine have leaked. Fuck, sometimes I forget how much I’m sweating this movie.
New Batman Vehicle Revealed In This ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Set Photo?
Here’s the thing. I’ve been telling myself that I’m trying to keep the Dark Knight Rises as fresh as possible for when I go into the theater. It is almost impossible. Certain news sites just up and throw spoilers everywhere in their headlines. I’m trying to not do the same, not be as specific. So if you want to see what may be a new vehicle of the Bat from The Dark Knight Rises, hit the jump.
If not, god love you.
Darren Aronofsky Trying To Land Christian Bale For ‘Noah.’ Yes Please!
Darren Aronofsky’s epic biblical disaster flick Noah looks like it really may be happening. You can’t destroy the planet in biblical proportions without a budget, and this pig is looking to cost a cool $130 million. With half of the funding secured, Aronofsky is scrambling to get another studio to put up the cheddar. How can he do that more easily? By getting an actor like Christian Bale to hop aboard.
Face of a Franchise: John Connor
[face of a franchise presents two individuals that’ve fulfilled the same role. your task — choose the better of the two and defend your choice in the rancor pit that is the comments section]
Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a flick that has everything going for it – groundbreaking special effects, a story that adds a unique twist to the original film, and Conan the goddamn Destroyer! But all of these structures are supported by the crux that is Edward Furlong’s performance as John Connor. After all, this figure is the boy who would grow up to be the man that leads the resistance against the robo-tyrants. Barely a teen during the filming, Furlong paints a flawless portrait of a boy who is without hope before being visited by two time-travelers – one Austrian super-machine who wants to save him and one Agent Doggett who wants to kill him.
At this point, it’s a classic tale. And without Furlong, I’m not sure it would be.
A few years later, Hollywood decided that there were more diamonds to be mined out of Mount Terminator. Thus, more sequels were commissioned. Due to some mysterious circumstances *cough*drugs*cough* Edward Furlong was not invited to reprise the role of John Connor. Utter bullshit, I say! Who cares if Furlong’s strung out on China White? Couldn’t a good director use that? Hell, John Connor’s a man rising against supercomputer overlords, shouldn’t he seem exhausted?
Whatever, man. It’s just politics, as per usual. Totally.
In any case, the sequels saw John Connor portrayed by two different schmohawks. In Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Nick Stahl was thrust into the role of humanity’s savior. Stahl was a shoo-in for the face of the high-action franchise, seeing as he had starred in Mel Gibson’s directorial debut. In Terminator Salvation, Christian Bale put his own spin on the character of John Connor. Uneasy about filling the shoes of his predecessors, Bale called upon the assistance of some of our generation’s greatest actors, individuals of unquestionable integrity.
It’s clear that Bale wanted nothing but professionalism on the set of T4.
Nick Stahl or Christian Bale – who is the better John Connor?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt Is Officially Alberto Falcon in ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
JGL. First rumored, and now signed to The Dark Knight Rises. JGL. First rumored, and now confirmed to be playing Alberto Falcone in The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan’s trilogy takes a thematically sensible turn, tying all the movies together with a throwback to Falcone in the original flick, with a son that’s inspired by Joker’s escalation of the game in the second.
Confirmed: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Signed To ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
It was known that he was in talks to be up in the bitch, but now it’s confirmed. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is going to be in The Dark Knight Rises. Hell yeah.
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Plot Points Leak.
No seriously maybe these are legitimate plot points for The Dark Knight Rises. Pinky swear. Maybe. Are you interested in the latest possible quasi-spoilers? They’re more of a general premise than anything else. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Is This The First Set Shot From The Dark Knight Rises?
[Note: I wrote this up last night, thought it was too sensationalist, and then discarded it. But then legit places starting pimping it, and if they do, why shouldn’t hits-needy places like OL be a whore as well? Lesson learned: always be a whore.]
Fair warning: The Brother Omega have a aching purple priapism for the forthcoming third Batman flick by Christopher Nolan. It rages within our collective pants, beating against the confines of cotton and denim and zippers. So if you can’t hang with that, you’re going to be doing a lot of scrolling in the next fifteen months or so.
I’m going to be fapping over everything. Like this: a purported first set shot from the film. Shit doesn’t even have to be confirmed for me to get excited about it. This possibly, maybe, could be, a set picture. The elaboration on the origination of this possible picture comes from Nolan Fans:
A photo popped up on the JoBlo forums today of what appears to be the set for Arkham Asylum in The Dark Knight Rises. The poster says, “my good mate who is working on set at cardington where it’s being shot sent me this.” Not quite sure how legit this is, but we’re figured it’s worth a share. Perhaps it’s just a left over set from Batman Begins?
Hit the jump to see the whole thing.
Robin in The Dark Knight Rises? Rumors A-Go-Go!
Is Robin coming to The Dark Knight Rises? I speculated upon that shit last week, when it was announced JGL is negotiating to be in the flick. Now the rumor mill has begun to churn, steam rising and gears crunching.
Slashfilm:
But a report from a Michigan NBC affiliate might now suggest otherwise. According to reports, location scouts for The Dark Knight Rises were in Grand Ledge, MI recently and were looking at a water treatment plant to possibly be used as “a hideout for Batman’s sidekick Robin.” Are the location scouts being misquoted? Could this just be a red herring? Or are they possibly referring to another Robin? Read all the possibilities and quotes after the jump.
I don’t blame anyone who initially balks at the concept. In fact, both Nolan and Bale have publicly stated in the past they didn’t think it was the best idea.
Christian Bale & Marky Mark Belt Out ‘The Touch’ From Boogie Nights & More!
Here’s a scientific fact you probably don’t know: Marky Mark is clinically awesome in Boogie Nights. And one of the best moments of the movie is when he begins belting out ‘The Touch’. Apparently that shit is from Transformers. Never knew. Do you want a video of him belting it out? How about Christian Bale singing the theme to the Powerpuff Girls? In the same video? Well here you go. I’m sorry for blowing up your asshole with awesome.
It’s worth it.
