Report: ‘Captain America: Civil War’ trailer debuting with ‘The Force Awakens’

This makes sense. Disney is propelling us into the apocalyptic monoculture, slowly accumulating our entire pop psyche for their benefit (and mine, #stockholder). So why not use the amazing largesse of corporate synergy that The Force Awakens presents as a means to promote another vessel?

‘Captain America: Civil War’ concept art reveals Captain America and Iron Man’s teams

Maybe! It’s “purported” concept art. But I’m buying it for two reasons. First, it’s as craptacular looking as all Marvel concept art. Second, it confirms the reports of who was on what side from a bit back. Thoughts?

black_panther_2017_movie-1920x1080-black-panther-delivering-marvel-s-most-important-movie-jpeg-305234

This shit hit yesterday when I was marooned, away from my computer. Then I got home from a rock show at 1 am and was like “I need sleep.” But here they are now! Let’s chat about these set-photos of the Black Panther!

Samuel Jackson is not in ‘Captain America: Civil War’, doesn’t know why. Wants contract extension.

Nick Fury.

One of the biggest, most looming personalities in the MCU is going to be absent from Captain America: Civil War. And the man himself has no fucking clue why. I have, I have to hope there is a narrative explanation for this, and it isn’t Marvel not wanting to pay the actor. Shit. Even if their is a narrative explanation for the absence, I have a hard time swallowing it.

‘Captain Ameirca: Civil War’ Set Photos: Crossbones and Cap throwin’ down

boomboomtime

I’m a bit more cavalier about covering Captain America: Civil War set-photos that I am other properties. For some reason I don’t approach spoilers in adaptations of known comic book stories with the same reservation as I do other properties. For better or worse. So yeah, I’m digging these set-photos. And I’m sweating this flick.

Martin Freeman joins ‘Captain America: Civil War,’, I officially worry

Martin Freeman.

Martin Freeman has joined Captain America: Dawn of Justice. I’m fatigued. I tap. The solo movies were supposed to be a respite from the mania of the Avengers movies. And now this flick seems corporate-designed to compete with the upcoming Batman v. Superman. While it may end up being awesome, I’m beginning to worry about a) my own feelings towards superhero movies and b) the future of the MCU.

Rumor: Russo Brothers to direct ‘Avengers 3’ and ‘Avengers 4’

The Russo brothers.

Last night the RDJ+CP3=MCU’sCW news broke. And while I dug it, I agreed with most who were all “Wait, Civil War, already?” But what I was hoping (OH HOPES OF HOPE) was that Cap 3 was merely the jumping-off point for Cinematic Civil War. The kick-off, the impetus, the boiling point. And if the rumors of the Russo Brothers maybe/sorta directing the next two Avengers movies are true, it would help perpetuate my hope. Sanctify it. In blood and comic book flesh and the mewling whimper of a decaying star’s doomed infancy.
