GODZILLA AWESOMENESS by BRANDON GRAHAM. You’re Welcome.
Here’s some FUCKING GODZILLA GOODNESS by OL favorite BRANDON GRAHAM. Go here for more of his madcap-genius-time.
OL TRANSMISSION RECONNECT: Speed Run Of Your Lives
Hello slime, I have missed you. Two days in the gorgeous, but insanely backwards state of Florida has given way to a return to the Space-Ship proper. I’m sitting in the Space Hub, paying $3000 space-cubits per minute to type up this bad boy before departure. Instead of trying to cover everything upon return, here’s a fucking rundown of all the dope stuff I’ve noted whilst away from my terminal.
Read all this dope shit, and then hit the comments with your own…commentary? Clearly the sun has done nothing to help my tattered remains of lucidity.
Brandon Graham’s EMERALD CITY COMICON ART depicts creator-owned characters as attendees
Brandon Graham’s latest effort of inspired rockitude comes courtesy of the Emerald City Comicon. Graham has provided art for the convention which depicts a veritable fuckload of creator-owned characters just hanging out. Attending the convention. It’s a wonderful way to a) hype the con, b) pay tribute to the gnarly cavalcade of creator-owned characters out there, and c) give me a boner.

Japanese ‘SNOW CRASH’ book covers are totally 1337
Weird pop culture intersectionality today upside my head. While Googling for a Snow Crash cover to post over in my Sony vs. Oculus Rift post, I stumbled across these gorgeous covers for the Japanese edition of the novel. The weirdest part is that it was on also-personal-hero-alongside-Stephenson Brandon Graham’s…LiveJournal. The Internet is strange, man.
Check the covers after the jump.
MOST GNARLY: Brandon Graham creates shared sci-fi universe at Image called “8HOUSE.’
So fucking ill. Nana with warts on her butt hole shades of ill. Brandon Graham is creating a shared sci-fi universe “8House” over at Image Comics, and the whole thing sort of smacks like a Graham Universe. A collection of mini-series taking place in a shared universe, creator-owned characters, and creativity out the ass. I am fucking there.
Blurst of 2013 – The Faux Bot’s picks
2013 is a landmark year for me in that it’s the first year on record where I am leaving it feeling genuinely bitter and downtrodden. Fuck 2013, man; full of disappointment, heartbreak and embarrassment. It’s the year in which I even turned my back on my beloved games industry, having to quit writing about it because I just couldn’t think of anything positive to say anymore.
Still, amongst the disappointment and fatigue, my natural optimism managed to shine through: finding joy in vinyl toys, the odd game, book or movie and of course plenty of good music. It wasn’t all bad, so let’s start off 2014 as I mean to go on – fucking pumped, bro! PROTEIN BRO!
Buy These Flippin Comics!!! (9.11.13) Die-Hard With A Vengeance
One of the great things about comics is the medium’s penchant for reinterpretation and reinvention. An endless catalogue of characters, fictitious and real, lie dormant in old books and film, waiting for another chance to tell their story. Hit the jump and let’s discuss a few of those appearing in comics this week, and I PROMISE I won’t make another crappy Die Hard reference!
BUY THESE FLIPPIN COMICS!! (8/7/2013) – SCI-FI RENAISSANCE
Hey, folks! Johnny here, back again for another week of slingin’ philosophical about my favorite pastime! Looking at this week’s releases, I was amazed at just how much great non-superhero fare there is to be read currently. Not in a long time have I felt that the variety of books is SO great and SO varied, that it is the perfect time to introduce comics to friends and loved ones who might like comics, but maybe just don’t dig capes. Here’s what I’d like to grab this week, and hit us up in the comments and tell us what you’re looking out for!
MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE: Loose-Bowel’d Time Traveling
Hello friends. Another harried edition of Monday Morning Commute for you right here. I’m in that liminal state between teaching and tutoring today (the two hat I don upon the campus), and I reckon this moment may be my only chance to vomit this up before the evening. So uh, rules of the game — we share what we are enjoying, looking forward to, and consuming with great relish on a given week.
Here is my collection of existence!
Brandon Graham gives STORM the quality Mohawk she deserves.
Ah, this is so delicious. Brandon Graham posted a picture he drew of Storm on his tumblr. Like all people of awesomeness, he imagines the Weather Wielder with her mohawk.
