Hubble captures the death of a Sun-Like Star, it’s a beautiful demise
Hubble captures the death of a sun-like star, and we’re all the better for it. Thank you, Hubble. For capturing its glory. Me? I’m either going to die from a fall, or covered in my own feces and surrounded by Pepsi Max cans (regardless of age).
Hubble Deep Field Images capture New Type of Galaxy
Motherfuckin’ Hubble doin’ work, son! Its deep field images have captured an entirely new type of galaxy.
Space Swoon: This Nebula is a High-Excitating Blob
Seriously, astronomers call this nebula a High-Excitating Blob. Space ain’t just awesome, apparently it is fun.
European Space Agency’s lost Philae lander has been found; wedged into crack on its comet
Poor fucking Philae. Out there in space, on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Wedged into a crack, lost, lost, lost. But now, found! By the space probe Rosetta!
New Horizons has taken pictures of *another* dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt
New Horizon ain’t just snapping shots of Pluto, everyone’s favorite (dwarf) planet. Nah. Nah! It’s also snapping shots of 50000 Quaoar. A dwarf planet roughly half the size of Pluto.
Astronomers find radio signal so strong that it *may* be from aliens
Like, we all know this isn’t going to turn out to be aliens, right? And even if it were aliens, there’s no way the Trilateral Commission and Anti-Disclosure Bastards would let us know the signal was real, right? Let’s get excited anyways, though. For now.
Space Swoon: NASA’s Juno spacecraft speeds towards Jupiter’s North Pole
NASA has just flown a spacecraft closer to Jupiter than ever before. The Solar System’s bulwark (seriously, big bastard eats so much space debris so we can not be obliterated so we can watch reality shows and attack one another with horrible, horrible mad-made weaponry, so uh, thanks?) is getting a thorough examination, courtesy of the Juno spacecraft.
Massive new Galaxy revealed to be 99% Dark Matter; Elder Things Everywhere
New galaxy. 99% Dark Matter. Let’s be honest, this is where the Elder Things are waiting. Waiting to reveal themselves. I, for one, love comma splices, and welcome them.
