‘Neuromancer’ movie happening again with ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller attached
Neuromancer is happening, again, folks. As you may or may not know, I’ve sworn off being worried about adaptations, and telling myself if they’re good, awesome. Bonus. If they suck, no harm no foul. So I’ll say this about the Neuromancer adaptation. The biggest hurdle it faces is not looking derivative, because it’s so goddamn influential that so many properties that have ripped it off (or paid homage if you’re on the positive tip) have dropped first. That said, I like Tim Miller. A lot.
‘It’ director Andy Muschietti hungry to direct a ‘Pet Sematary’ adaptation, so here’s hoping ‘It’ is dope
Here’s hoping It is a good movie. I ain’t seen the original, or read it, but the trailer for the forthcoming movie looks dope to me. Why is it worth hoping? ‘Cause director Andy Muschietti wants to lay hands on another King property, Pet Sematary.
Chris Pratt-starring ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ adaptation is arriving in theaters in 2019, pinky swear
I’ve been writing about the Chris Pratt/Cowboy Ninja Viking project for a while, with my apex-boner arriving back in the day when the John Wick directors were attached. They ain’t anymore, unfortunately, but now at least the movie has a release date. And! Back in the day, it had a script by the Deadpool dudes. Is that script still being used? I ain’t got a fucking clue. So, pending script and director, I’m cautiously optimistic about this adaptation of a comic series I damn enjoyed.

I’m just going to throw my chips in with this Hellboy reboot. The cast was already to my taint-tickling delight, and now it has added Milla Jovovich. Why not just be optimistic? Eh?! Hopper from Stranger Things? Resident Evil Lady?! Odin from American Gods?!?

NGL, not gonna lie, as the kids say (they don’t say this any longer, if they ever did, it’s me, old white guy, ruining phrases). I didn’t watch this mother! trailer. I’m already sold as fuck on Aronofsky’s next film. But, if you need some persuasion, check this motherfucker out. That may or may not be a pun, as I said, I didn’t watch this trailer.

Wonder Woman is going to be the new Batman of the DCU, it looks like. Not in the sense that she’s going to be hysterically brooding, miserable, and in need of therapy. No, no. Rather, she’s going to be turning up all in their properties. Since, you know. She’s the only good thing about their cinematic universe, so far.

Listen, I really enjoyed Wonder Woman, and I’m glad it is making shit loads of money. However, and c’mon let’s not kid ourselves, it’s sort of just a Marvel Studios movie. So, I’m glad that DC finally seems to get it with the aforementioned movie, and seemingly with Shazam!. But, like DCU stans, it’s time to admit it. After years of puffing your chest and pretending the DCU was cool because it was “gritty” and “realistic”, if you’re going to like the DCU going forward, you’re going to have to admit something. Marvel Studios won, tonally.
