Maybe: Sony planning female-led Marvel superhero flick for 2017
For all of Marvel Studios’ success, the one consistent drumbeat (understandably) is for more diversity. A female-led movie. An African-American led movie. And while Marvel Studios’ Head Czar comes up with a litany of crap to explain away why they haven’t “found time in their release schedule” for a female-led movie, another studio is going go ahead and get this shit done. With a Marvel character. Before them. Good looks, Sony.

As I said, this weekend Legendary revealed that Godzilla 2 was a go. And then for some reason they revealed the monsters. Why? Wouldn’t secrecy and a reveal make more sense?

Double your pleasure, double your fun with this news. Not only is Tarantino officially going forth with The Hateful Eight, but he’s also got a little sci-fi idea in his brain. Admittedly, it’s still gestating. But fuck. I will always be pumped when one of my favorite directors thinks about tackling my favorite genre.
Leaked: ‘Deadpool’ Test Footage featuring Ryan Reynolds
All the leaks! This time it’s some leaked Deadpool test footage, which I imagine was conjured to try and sell The Suits on the Merc with a Mouth getting his own movie. Me? I think it’s pretty neat. Ain’t judging the CG since it’s, you know, test footage. But the meta, the absurd violence, I think they’d be on the right track.
