Geoff Johns in charge of DC Films Division in wake of ‘Batman v Superman’ reaction
The good news: Warner Bros. realizes they need to shake things up in their DC Films division. The bad news: they’ve chosen Geoff Johns (and Jon Berg). The good news: it can’t be any worse. The bad news: I’m not sure how much better it can get under his (their) stewardship.
Confirmed: ‘X-Force’ movie coming, female Wolverine “X-23” may be involved
I would happily, happily! take an X-Force movie that is even remotely connected to Rick Remender’s righteous run. Compounding my excitement about this movie is the news that Bryan Singer ain’t involved in it.
‘Harley Quinn’ movie coming; Margot Robbie To Produce and Star
Harley Quinn is obviously my favorite part of the Suicide Squad movie. ‘Cause she’s a total bananas babe, and I’m a fourteen year-old boy (not) deep down at all. So bring on a solo movie, bring on a solo movie with the star producing and starring.
Maybe: Next ‘X-Men’ movie to be set in Space in the 90s
Got to level with you. Not really expecting anything from X-Men: Apocalypse. It seems to be shaping up to be (if the early reviews are accurate) the film-shaped turd that I expected of Days of Future Past. But hey, maybe the franchise can rally with the next installment. In space.
‘The Neon Demon’ International Trailer: You? You’re Going To Be Great
I have no fucking idea what to make of this movie. From any of the promotional materials. From any of the trailers. I just know that Refn is an auteur I keep an eye on, even if he is infuriating me. Even if it’s making me roll my eyes. ‘Cause the dude is doing interesting stuff, or trying to, or accomplishing it, or somewhere in-betweening it.
Michael B. Jordan joins Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ movie; this is going to own
Michael B. Jordan has been cast in the Black Panther movie, rejoining director Ryan Coogler for a third flick. Jordan rules, and I’m glad to see him putting his stamp on what appears to be a dope comic book movie. We will all forget about F4 soon enough, fictional son of Creed.
