‘Suicide Squad’ gets crushed in reviews. Does this Summer suck for blockbusters?
Well, you had one fucking job, Suicide Squad. One fucking job. A small job, a large job, I’m no sure. But a job none the less. Save my summer blockbuster experience. But reviews are coming in, and if they aren’t calling the film a raging dumpster fire (which, by the way, they are), they’re definitely condemning it as more raw-ass DCU detritus. Detritus for the fanboys to gorge themselves on, chins coated in calamitous slop, decrying the critics and their harsh reviewers. Detritus for the critics to sharpen their polemical swords upon, their polemical broadsides upon, swinging said weaponry at low-hanging fecaltainment.
‘Uncharted’ movie finds new writer in Joe Carnahan (‘The Grey’)
Oh hey Uncharted is still getting a movie adaptation. Its latest writer is Joe Carnahan, who has done a smatter of work, none of which I enjoyed more than The Grey.
Third ‘Avengers’ movie is titled ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, fourth movie is currently untitled
So. First we had Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 and Part 1. Then it was announced that there was not going to be a “Part 1” and “Part 2”, with the third and fourth movies getting their own titles. Now! Now it’s been announced that the third movie futzing *is* Avengers: Infinity War, and the fourth one is untitled. WHEW.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ News: Tessa Thompson shares Valkyrie’s sword from the set
I can’t wait for Thor: Ragnarok. I can’t wait for more Thor. I can’t wait for Planet Hulk. I can’t wait for Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
Probably: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ trailer coming before ‘Doctor Strange’
Not particularly news for anyone who has been paying attention, but scuttlebutt has it that GotG Vol. 2 is getting its first trailer before Doctor Strange.
‘The Great Wall’ Trailer: Matt Damon fights Demons on the Wall. Huh?
Where the fuck did this movie come from?
Geoff Johns is now officially President of DC Entertainment
You know, I generally don’t like Geoff Johns. Find the dude hackneyed. But, that said, I really enjoyed all of the DCU’s showings this past weekend at SDCC. So, yeah, I’m going to go ahead and be excited about the news that he’s officially the President of DC Entertainment. Dude has helped them turn a corner. Hopefully.
Joe Cornish’s ‘Snow Crash’ adaptation may finally shoot in 2017
I don’t know man, I don’t know. Can anyone faithfully bring to the big screen the glorious, gorgeous, hilarious, occasionally dense as fuck cyberpunk (and top 5 all time of mine) book, Snow Crash? I’m not certain. But if it’s going to happen, Attack The Block‘s Joe Cornish is a good director to tap. But. I don’t know man, I don’t know.
