‘SWAMP THING’ x ‘ANIMAL MAN’ Event ‘ROTWORLD’ Kicks Off In Their 12th Issues.

Despite not reading Animal Man  or Swamp Thing  (listen I’m buying the trades, get off my ass), I’ve been kept abreast of their interweaving storylines courtesy of my brother. These mingling storylines will be coming to a head this August in the 12th issue of both titles.

Rafael Grampa Does ‘The MASSIVE #3’ Variant Cover; All Is Right With The World.

Thanks to Warren Ellis for bringing to attention this glorious variant cover for The Massive #3 by  Rafael Grampa with colors courtesy of Dave Stewart. I’m already excited for the official release of this new jam by  Brian Wood and Kristian Donaldson, and this has me spinning in circles.

Neal Adams To Draw ‘THE FIRST X-MEN’ Miniseries. This…Sounds Awful.

Wow. Marvel is ever-giving Wolverine a quality balls-washing these days. Roger Langridge Isn’t Doing Anymore Work For DC Or Marvel. Stay Strong, Sir.

Creator Roger Langridge is taking something of a stand – even if he seems frankly so down to Earth he’d never call it that – and is no longer going to work for the Big Two Funny Book Farms. But let’s assume that this is a turkey-free zone, shall we?

The writer of MEMOIR and CHOKER (amongst others), Ben McCool has quickly established himself as a burgeoning force of nature in the sequential art ecosystem. Yes, it’s true that a viscous oil of staid storytelling may pump through the veins of the comic medium. But McCool takes a stab at narrative resuscitation by mainlining a cocktail of novelty, originality, daring, and genuine entertainment directly into the heart.

Yes, I am a fan of Ben McCool.

In fact, I recently found myself sending the British-born scribe a set of questions that I’d conjured up during a moment of half-inebriated super-confidence. To my delight, McCool pleasantly responded! What a gentleman! Hit the jump to check an exchange which includes an exploration of the comic book career path, some insight into what inspires creativity, the sharing of a truly filthy haiku, and plenty more!
