Marvel Teases The RETURN OF JEAN GREY In Entertainment Weekly? Bring Back Red.
Fuckkkkkkkk Emma Frost and her bourgeoisie swagger. Please let Jean Grey return in a hail of fiery telekinectic fury, vaporizing that posh hag.
Before The Fight, ANDERSON SILVA and CHAEL SONNEN Face Off…In A Comic Book.
I’ve been awaiting the Silva/Sonnen rematch for a good amount of time. Differing from most of my friends, I find Sonnen to be a bit of a douche. I’ve been biding my time, and god dammit I hope to see him get ass laid out. Overeager and ready to watch, waiting for Saturday seems an interminable amount of time. Thankfully, uh, I can spend some of it reading a comic book about them.
Marvel’s Next Event Is ‘PUNISHER WAR ZONE’, Featuring The Saltine Banality of Recycled Wonder
Behold the House of Wonder! Hot off their event where the Superheroes Punch Each Other: Wasn’t Civil War A Couple of Years Ago?, they’re going to have the Punisher be morally ambiguous and take issue with other superheroes! Breathe it in!, the horror of fart-scented mediocrity.
First Look: Becky Cloonan’s Art In ‘BATMAN #12’. So Good.
Buh! Wha? I didn’t know that Becky Cloonan was rocking out on Batman. Praise be to the Pencil Gods! Here’s a peak at her work on The Bat-Man #12, which is an epilogue to the whole Court of the Owls storyline that Snyder has been riffing on since the title relaunched in the New 52. Can’t fucking wait, man.
DC RIPS OFF Image’s Creator-Centric Ad Campaign For Comic-Con
As I’ve said ad nauseam lately, Image has been firing on all cylinders. One of the reasons for their righteous domination is their focus on the fucking creators. DC seems to have taken notice of Image and its bustling stable of marketable creators, ninjaing the idea of marketing the creators themselves. Shit, even the aesthetic is redolent of the Image campaign.
Paul Dini Is Writing A ‘BATMAN’ Graphic Novel That Is “Very Personal”, Let Us Rejoice
Paul Dini is responsible for many a wonderful thang, most particularly Batman: The Animated Series. That shit sculpted a good part of my childhood. News that the dude is coming back to rock The Bat is fantastic on its own. But when Dini starts dropping the idea that it’s going to be something “very personal” I become even more intrigued.
George Perez Couldn’t Stand Working On New 52 ‘SUPERMAN’
It should be pretty obvious that I enjoy any and all of these nightmare stories vomiting up out of the anus of DC. Here’s George Perez detailing what a slug to the hog it was to pen Superman in the New 52.
Ed Brubaker Focusing On His Creator-Owned Books After ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA’ Run Ends.
The exodus continues! Eddie Brubaker is making it known that once his run on Captain America ends he’s going to focus on creator-owned jams. I couldn’t like this more.
Eight-Year-Old Geoff John’s ‘HE-MAN’ CHARACTER Debuts On comiXology; Oh Hey Neat
The big buzz this weekend in the funny book world is centered on a character that Geoff Johns created back when he was eight years-old. His name is Sir Laser Lot, and while I haven’t read the comic I’m pretty sure it’s better than the New 52 run of Justice League. Also, little known fact: when Geoff Johns was thirteen he created an Earth-17 character that was Hal Jordan and Barry Allen stuck in a permanent 69. The name of the character was “Every storyline I’ll ever write.”
CBLDF And Other Organizations Come To Defense of Alan Moore’s ‘NEONOMICON’ After Library Pulls It.
The CBLDF and other organizations are launching into action after Alan Moore and Jacen Burrow’s pretty fucking terrifying comic Neonomicon got pulled from a library in South Carolina.
