OL STORE: Raph Says, “Daaammmn!”
Yo, ninja-heads! Why don’t you grab a slice of pizza and head over to the OL STORE? Don’t walk around flaunting your half-shells, cover up with one of our new t-shirts!
[Interview] Gaki Niccals – The Dixons
As the self proclaimed “Zombie Czar” of Omega-Level, I’m constantly on the lookout for freshness in the genre to show off to the class. So the other day, while doing research on Tumblr about the upcoming season of AMC’s The Walking Dead I stumbled on this gem of a web comic called The Dixons. The comic traced the dark nature of fan favorites Daryl and Merle Dixon, both characters exclusive to the AMC show (but not found in the original comic). If you have not read it yet, drop everything you are doing and click here or here.
I started reading, and was immediately hooked on the brooding tale of dysfunction that seemed to fit so perfectly with the show itself. I tracked down the author, and demanded answers! What I discovered was a young international prodigy on her way to greatness. Check her out after the jump. You’ll be glad you did.

SUPERMAN and WONDER WOMAN are officially a couple in the NEW 52
The easy answer to that dumb fucking conversation in Mallrats has been answered with the obvious. Wonder Woman has the piping to handle Superman’s shotgun load, and now she is hooked up with the guy.
Preview: ‘ALL-NEW X-MEN’ #1 artwork by Stuart Immonen. So hot.
I hate the fact that the only way I’m going to enjoy Jean Grey in my Marvel universe is through some wormhole time-bending bullshit. I do. However, I can’t stunt. I’m going to buy this, for Red. And for Stuart Immonen’s gorgeous artwork.
Brian Wood ain’t done with Viking tales even though ‘NORTHLANDERS’ is over. Praise Thor.
Northlanders getting axed was a kick to my he-clit. Not the sort of lovely one that follows me being tied up by my Jennifer Lawrence clone, and prior to the candle wax on my nipples. An unsolicited one. It is good news for me then, that Brian Wood intends on continuing Viking stories after the first Universe ended.
Ruling is approaching in the Shuster estate’s attempt to reclaim ‘SUPERMAN’ rights.
I don’t really understand the legal mumbo jumbo that is going on in the Shuster estate’s attempt to reclaim the rights to the Super-Man. They’re in a really righteous arm wrestling match with DC, I know that. There’s probably like a zillion bucks on the line, I know that too. But who is in the right? What the motions mean? Not even.
‘BUTCHER BAKER: THE RIGHTEOUS MAKER’ has ended. Dammit. I weep ultraviolent super sexualized tears.
No sooner do I get my rocks off celebrating the release of a new issue of Butcher Baker: Righteous Maker does news arrive that the comic book has been canceled. It wasn’t just canceled all peacefully like, either. Son of a bitch has become the center of an imbroglio between the two creators.
Buy These F**king Comics! – August 15, 2012: Sextillion can’t handle Butcher Baker! Dude rolls hard.
Wednesday. The delicious oasis in the middle of the weekly grind. Deliver us from 9-5. Deliver us from Cubicles. Deliver us in the form of weekly sequential artwork. Laser beams. Righteous makers. Providing just enough escape to slog through the last two days. This here is Buy These F**king Comics!, the column where we share the various titles we’re excited for on a given week. This column is powered by audience interaction, so if you see my poor taste and me abstaining from mentioning a title, throw it into the ring. Sharing is caring.
Don’t know what is arriving on shelves? Hit up Comic List. It’s cool. We’ll wait.

Brian K. Vaughan raps on the potential money in creator-owned comics.
Brian K. Vaughan has recently been getting his proselytizing on. The co-creator of the goddamn glorious Saga has opened up about the potential money to be made in creator-owned comics. Certainly he speaks from a perch of rampant success and fame, but he raises some good points. I’m personally glad the dude and Staples are crushing it over at Image, and I silently pray Saga gets optioned for a flick just so Staples and him can get the riches they deserve.
Esad Ribic’s cover for ‘THOR: GOD OF THUNDER’ #2 is straight Viking rock.
Marvel NOW! may be predicated on sales and emerge out of another bullshit event. It may. That isn’t stopping the creative minds at Marvel from bringing together some absurdly righteous creative teams. The company has revealed Esad Ribic’s cover for Thor: God of Thunder #2 and it has my balls all aflutter. That’s when they literally levitate in my pants, and I shout I’m flying!, I’m flying!” while recognizing a childhood dream.
