MAGNETO from ‘HOUSE OF M’ by Mike Mayhew
Mike Mayhew killing it in the House of M game. Here’s more of his work.
Comixology getting rid of IN-APP PURCHASES on iOS. Lack of Ease++
Comixology is giving Apple the big middle finger, and shifting away from an iOS application that offered purchases within the app. Means sense from a financial standpoint, since Apple apparently takes a 30% cut of all transactions through their walled-in garden. However, goddamn if it isn’t going to make my drunken binge purchases a bit more cumbersome.
Marvel dropping ‘LEGENDARY STAR-LORD’ series in July
Several things happen every time I see the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer. First, I apologize for hitting the person in front of me in the theater with my geek priapism. Second, I coo slowly at Chris Pratt, attempting to draw him out of the screen. Ala Last Action Hero. Third, I lament that I don’t read enough of the comics surrounding this Universe.
So Imma definitely snag this new on-going in an attempt to rectify at least one of those happenings.
Gorgeous Ms. Marvel & Captain Marvel artwork.
Super in love with this artwork by Lan. Check out her other artwork.
Marvel announces “DEATH OF WOLVERINE’ for September. Yawn.
Oh golly! Wolverine is dying in September! Hopefully…metaphorically? Wolverine storylines we need to put in the “Time Out” bin for a decade or so: Wolverine loses his healing factor, Wolverine loses his adamantium, Wolverine befriends underage girl and shows her how to live, Wolverine dies. I mean, didn’t Jason Aaron absolutely fucking dominate a Wolverine Must Die storyline like two years ago? Or so?
Monday Morning Commute: The Relevance of Rogues
Listen to the rogues that you come across.
These scoundrels are going to tell you things that make you uncomfortable. Hell, they might just tell you that your way of life is wrong, that it’s contributing to greater evils. When you give them an open ear, they’ll fill it with all sorts of detritus. Stuff that’s bound to upset your sensibilities. Ideas that make you want to vomit. Maybe they’ll ask you to chew on the notion that everything you believe is a lie. They’ll be vulgar and angry and a bit discomfiting.
And you need to listen to them.
`Cause right or wrong, if we don’t entertain roguish ideas then we have no right to accept the easy ones. Sure, some of the time the doomsayers and fringe-dwelling miscreants are wrong. But we can’t know that for sure unless we give `em a chance. And every now and then, when the blue moon turns blood red, the rogues are right. And when this is the case, they’re usually showing us that Daddy Society’s been belting the most hapless, defenseless of his children.
Listen to the rogues.

Welcome to the Monday Morning Commute! I’m going to highlight some of the pop-culture junk I’ll be snackin’ on over the course of the week. Then, you hit up the comments and share your own recipes for entertainment-treats. It’s show-and-tell amongst the crew and passengers of Spaceship OL.
LIFT OFF!
Warren Ellis + Tula Lotay teaming up for ‘SUPREME: BLUE ROSE.’ F**k yes, that ‘SUPREME.’
Warren Ellis is well…my dark lord. And master. Tula Lotay is a talent that I’ve been following religiously on the Insta-Gram for a couple of years now. The idea that the two of them are teaming up on something as out-of-right-field and eclectic as a Supreme book? Has me jazzed.
‘ROBIN RISES: OMEGA’ could see the return of DAMIAN WAYNE
Damian Wayne! Motherfucker was dope as fuck, slapping around foes with Daddy, and flaunting his superior genes. Then they killed his ass off. However, it looks like he is going to be coming back from the grave. Like every other comic character. Ever.
DAMN. AMAZON has bought COMIXOLOGY.
The lumbering, heavy-lunged shamble towards the mono-culture continues on, friends. The latest merger between corporate entities isn’t as terrifying as Comcast and Time Warner. It’s more intriguing. Amazon, who pretty much sells Everything to All Of Us, has bought the number one provider of digital funny books.
Paul Reinwand got some killer ‘WINTER SOLDIER’ artwork
Winter Soldier on the mind. Nay! Intergrated into my very soul this weekend. If you’re like me, feed the beast with this gorgeous artwork by Paul Reinwand.
