Nintendo remastering ‘Super Mario 64’, ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Galaxy’ for Switch for ‘Super Mario 3D All-Stars’ to celebrate plumber’s 35th anniversary
Man, this is a fucking bundle of wonderfulness, no? Nintendo dropping Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy in one meaty bundle. It’s called Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and it’s to celebrate the motherfucker turning 35.

Nintendo is bringing a slew of Super Mario games to Nintendo Switch, including re-releases of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario 3D World. The re-releases for Switch are part of Nintendo’s 35th anniversary celebration for its iconic mascot and the Super Mario Bros. series.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars for Nintendo Switch will include optimized versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy in one package. Nintendo promises higher resolutions and an optimized gameplay experience on Switch. Super Mario 3D All-Stars launches on Sept. 18 and will be available until approximately March 31, 2021, Nintendo said in a news release.
Nintendo is also re-releasing Wii U game Super Mario 3D World for Switch. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will be an enhanced version of Super Mario 3D World, and launches for Nintendo Switch on Feb. 12, 2021.
Finally, Nintendo is also re-releasing Super Mario All-Stars, the Super NES collection that includes upgraded versions of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3 with 16-bit graphics. Super Mario All-Stars is coming to Nintendo Switch Online today, Sept. 3.
Mario is already well-represented on Switch with Super Mario Odyssey, the excellent 2017 adventure that introduced players to Cappy, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which bundled Wii U games New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U in a single package. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can also play a variety of classic Super Mario games, from the NES original to Super NES sequel Super Mario World.
The release of classic 3D Mario games helps fill out a slower year for Nintendo, which has Pikmin 3 Deluxe, a re-release of the Wii U game, on its calendar for October.
