Ubisoft confirms ‘Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey’ after it leaked early. Where the fuck is ‘Watch Dogs 3’ thoooo

Man, I really hope Ubisoft ain’t dropping another AssCreed this year. First off, the series benefited significantly from taking a year off before Origins dropped. To get back on the annual train seems foolish. Who knows, maybe it ain’t dropping this year. Second off, I want Watch Dogs 3, badly. And I can’t imagine AssCreed and Watch Dogs 3 dropping the same autumn. Again, who knows, maybe AssCreed will be revealed to be dropping in 2019.

Ubisoft has confirmed rumors that its next installment in the action stealth series Assassin’s Creed is called Odyssey and is very likely set in ancient Greece. The developer’s official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account put out a short, six-second teaser video this afternoon featuring what looks like a Spartan soldier kicking an enemy off a cliff.

That’s a clear tip of the hat to the most famous scene in Zack Snyder’s film adaptation of Frank Miller’s Spartan-themed graphic novel 300, suggesting the game will likely take place during that period of Greek history. The logo for the game also features what looks like a Corinthian helmet, a primary piece of protective headgear worn by Greek soldiers during that era.

This confirms leaks and longstanding rumors about the game’s new historical setting that have been circulating for months now. We’ll hear more from Ubisoft during its official E3 press conference taking place on Monday, June 11th.
