‘Han Solo’ movie eyeing Ron Howard to replace Phil Lord and Chris Miller
Sure, whatever, okay.
CBR:
In the wake of the news that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have exited the Star Wars anthology film about Han Solo over “creative differences,” Deadline reports Ron Howard is now the frontrunner to helm the project. According to the report, Howard is being considered for his wealth of experience behind the camera, which would allow him to keep the film on track to meet its May 2018 release date.
Regarding the pair’s departure from the project, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said, “Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon.” If this new report is any indication, that announcement will come imminently.
