‘Aquaman’ has officially begun production, here’s the new logo to celebrate
Begun, production onĀ Aquaman has. Shared the new logo, Warner Bros. has.
Warner Bros. has issued a press release signaling that Aquaman has begun filming.
There are no surprises in the cast list, with the previously-announced Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Amber Heard (Mera), Willem Dafoe (Vulko), Temuera Morrison (Tom Curry), Dolph Lundgren (Nereus), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta), Patrick Wilson (Orm/Ocean Master), and Nicole Kidman (Atlanta).
The press release goes on to list the producers, director of photography, editor, designers, and key VFX personnel, but does not list the screenwriters. The latest reports indicate that Will Beall wrote the screenplay, based on story by Wan and Geoff Johns.
Warner Bros. specifically notes that Aquaman will primarily be filmed on Queensland, Australia’s Gold Coast and at the nearby Village Roadshow Studios. Additional filming is scheduled to be done in Newfoundland, Sicily, and Tunusia.
Aquaman has reportedly shifted release dates on several occasions with the most-recent being December 21, 2018, but Warner Bros. simply states that it is “currently set for a 2018 release.”
