‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ TV Spot: You Only Get One Chance To Save The Galaxy Twice
I need this movie. What the fuck else to say? The sequel to my favorite MCU movie (by far), and it’s looking like a fucking hilarious follow-up.
It’s funny how things work out. When Marvel was putting together the cast for Guardians of the Galaxy, they probably never dreamed that it would be former professional wrestler and MMA fighter Dave Bautista who would emerge as the film’s most likable character. And yet, with his deadpan line deliveries and awesome physicality, Bautista stood out among his live-action costars — I mean, nobody was going to beat Groot — as the funniest and most sympathetic of all the Guardians. Just like that, Bautista was a bonafide movie star and one of the biggest strengths of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And with the latest television spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (via ComingSoon.net) it’s become obvious that Marvel knows exactly what is has this time around. Bautista has been pretty much front-and-center for each of the new trailers Marvel has released, getting big laughs for his character’s oh-so literal sense of humor. This new spot offers another spin on the Mantis collision from the film’s Super Bowl spot, except now Drax isn’t shouting offers of help too late so much as expressing relief that he wasn’t the one taken out. It’s just one more great joke in Bautista’s collection and further proof that he’s the best non-Baby Groot thing the film has going for it
