‘Black Panther’ Gets New Logo As Filming Begins
Black Panther got itself a new logo, which coincides with confirmation that filming has begun. Interestingly, too, at the same time as Infinity War.
The juggernaut that is Marvel Studios shows no signs of slowing down. As production wrapped on the studios trio of 2017 feature films (May’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” July’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and November’s “Thor: Ragnarok”), filming has begun on the studios 2018 offerings. The brief announcement came from Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito who shared an image on Twitter from the “Black Panther” set.
The shot doesn’t feature anything in the way of location or an actor or prop; it’s just a shot of the chair back used on the set’s seats. Of course the chair back itself is of note: it has a totally new “Black Panther” logo on it, one that’s different both from the logo we’ve seen used for the film before and the one currently used by the “Black Panther” comic series.
The text of the tweet indicates that “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War” are filming simultaneously in Atlanta. It was rumored just yesterday that “Infinity War” would begin production very soon. Cameras are now rolling on both 2018 Marvel movies, which makes sense as many of “Black Panther’s” stars — including Martin Freeman, now confirmed to be reprising his role of Everett K. Ross from “Captain America: Civil War” — were spotted in Atlanta over the weekend.
