Ryan Reynolds Appearing In ‘Logan’ As Deadpool [Update: Or Nah]
Apparently, Ryan Reynolds is going to be starring in a scene of Logan as Deadpool. Apparently.
Update. Or nah.
Updated December 28, 2016: Logan director James Mangold, star Hugh Jackman, and Ryan Reynolds himself have all refuted reports that Deadpool will have a cameo in the film.
All that ball-fondling worked out, after all.
According to The Wrap, Ryan Reynolds “recently shot a scene as Deadpool” for Logan, Hugh Jackman’s final go-around as Wolverine (or so he claims). 20th Century Fox, which is distributing the film, declined to comment on the rumor, but “an individual with knowledge of the project tells The Wrap the Deadpool scene in Logan will most likely become a post-credit scene.” If true, Reynolds’ involvement is one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood.
The Green Lantern actor (although don’t call him that) has been talking about re-teaming with his X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-star (although, again, don’t call him that) since before Deadpool was even released. “God, I hope so, that would be really nice,” Reynolds said. “It seems like he’s open to it.”
He later added, “I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line. Hugh Jackman is one of the best human beings. Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire but I genuinely love the guy.” (Jackman returned the compliment by impersonating People‘s 2010 Sexiest Man Alive.) Reynolds got his wish, and someone’s going to get… hurt.
