‘Alien: Covenant’ Trailer: New Planet, Same Chest-Bursting Results
Here’s the Alien: Covenant trailer. A movie that seems to tenuously be connected to the movie Prometheus through the Magneto-Android, and is in every other right just an Alien flick. Which is a good thing for most people. Cause me? After seeing the trailer? I’m excited.
The first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the follow-up to the director’s 2012 film Prometheus, has arrived.
The film focuses on the crew of the Covenant, a colony ship whose members believe they have stumbled upon a new paradise. It’s through their exploration, however, that they discover the artificially intelligent David (Michael Fassbender), the survivor of the catastrophic Prometheus expedition.
In an interview earlier this year, Scott said that Alien: Covenant would focus on the “why and how and when the beast was invented.” Scott also confirmed Covenant would “go back into the back door of the first Alien movie.”
Alien: Covenant was originally supposed to be released on April 4, 2017, but was pushed back a couple of months by 20th Century Fox. Covenant will now open on May 19, alongside the new Baywatch reboot.
Fassbender will be joined by James Franco, Guy Pearce and Katherine Waterston in Covenant.
