Sebastian Stan: ‘Black Panther’ movie could feature the Winter Soldier
Oh dear god, if this is true, my dick is going to break.
Black Panther has rolled out a stacked cast that’s surprising in its depth and scope. We’re going to learn a lot about Wakanda and T’Challa in this movie. But there is, of course, the question of where it fits in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there is, apparently, one key piece of casting that hasn’t come up yet.
Over the weekend at Philly Comic Con, Sebastian Stan was asked where the Winter Soldier might turn up next, he had a rather telling answer:
Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in.
For the five people who haven’t seen Captain America: Civil War, at the end of the movie Bucky voluntarily goes into a cold sleep at a Wakandan facility while they work on deprogramming him. In other words, if Bucky was going to pop up anywhere, Black Panther would be a natural place for it.
It also seems likely. Black Panther leads Wakanda, after all, and Wakanda is opening up to the world after centuries of isolating itself from global affairs. If it comes out they’re keeping a wanted criminal on their soil, that’s going to be a point of contention the Panther will need to deal with. Not to mention the fact that Helmut Zemo is still in lockup and still knows how to control Bucky. But we’ll see just how Wakanda’s foreign policy evolves in February 2018.
