‘Transformers 5’ officially titled ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’, oh yeah these are movies
On Instagram, Paramount Pictures announced that “Transformers 5″ will officially be titled “Transformers: The Last Knight.” The film’s official Instagram account also confirms that production will begin in June 2016.
Earlier this year, the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office revealed that director Michael Bay’s “Transformers: The Last Knight” will film in Detroit. The news comes as a result of a restructured incentive agreement with Paramount Pictures that will save the state $21 million. “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” 2011’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and 2007’s “Transformers” were also shot, in part, in and around Detroit.
Paramount previously announced dates in February for three “Transformers” sequels, with one released each year beginning in 2017. They’ll be the first fruits of a writers room established a year ago to map out an expanded cinematic universe that will include a “Bumblebee” spinoff and an animated feature. Plans are also under way for “Transformers 8.”
Starring Mark Wahlberg, who will reprise his role as Cade Yeager from “Age of Extinction,” “Transformers: The Last Knight” will arrive in theaters June 23, 2017.
