‘Fallout 4’ Far Harbor DLC Trailer: Paid Our Dues In Blood & Bullets
I spent four months playing Fallout 4. Four fucking months. Loved it. Love it. That said, I’m terrified about getting back into it with the release of Far Harbor. The game steals me, steals my mind, steals my heart. To escape once was lucky, may I escape twice? We shall find out, I suppose.
Fallout 4 is such an expansive game that the notion of the Commonwealth getting even bigger is kind of mind-boggling. But, bigger it will become this month as Bethesda readies its third DLC pack in the form of “Far Harbor.”
So far, players and fans of the fourth installment in the series have received somewhat minimal DLC packs with “Wasteland Workshop” and “Automatron.” Only “Automatron” contains a worthwhile series of new quests, but even so, you can play through all the content in five to 10 hours. The best thing about “Automatron” is the ability to crate your own robot companions, and with the Workshop expansion, creating more nuanced home bases is possible. Still, even with those two content upgrades, there’s little to do for those who have played through the main storyline.
Enter “Far Harbor,” an expansion that Bethesda touts as one of its biggest updates to any game in its history. (Actually, Shivering Isles for Oblivion is the biggest the video game giant has released, but this is a close second.) In this new DLC, players will be able to explore a new island on the map, and with it come new quests. Here’s the official synopsis:
In “Far Harbor,” a new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost?
