Rumor: ‘Justice League Dark’ looking at Monica Bellucci and Colin Farrell for roles
So, I have no idea about the characters that WB is eyeing Monica Bellucci to play. But holy crap crackers, Colin Farrell as Constantine? I can fuck with that! And, I love both of those people, so I support this development.
The rumor originates at Latino Review, who report that producer Scott Rudin has come aboard the Justice League Dark movie in the hopes to have it prepped to begin filming sometime next year. WB will continue developing the concept without del Toro directing, though they are still using his script which features the lineup of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Dead Man and Etrigan the Demon.
In addition, the report suggests that while no roles have been cast as of yet, the studio is still interested in pursuing Ron Perlman, who was del Toro’s choice for Swamp Thing. They’re also claiming that Ewan McGregor has been previously offered the role of Constantine, but that WB now has their eye on Colin Farrell, who is also starring in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for the studio.
For the role of the enchanting Madame Xanadu, the studio is rumored to be eyeing Monica Bellucci, who was recently depressingly underused in Spectre. The report also suggests that WB wants a hispanic or black actress for Zatanna and a comedic type for Deadman.
