Patrick Stewart confirms he is in next ‘Wolverine’ movie
The third Wolvie solo flick is going to feature none other than Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier. Which, I guess, I’m sort of surprised by. Stewart gave up the Xavier-reins in the X-Men franchise proper, and so I sort of imagine that was that. But hey! It’s nice to see him making an appearance in Hugh Jackman’s final flick portraying the Canadian berserker.
There aren’t a lot of details out there yet about the third “Wolverine” solo film, but it looks likePatrick Stewart just provided a bit more info. In an interview with Collider promoting his new Starz series “Blunt Talk,” Stewart talked rumors of Professor X showing up in the new Wolverine film — which Hugh Jackman has said will be his last outing as the character, after more than 15 years.
“There is a project in development,” Stewart told Collider. “I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however. That intrigues me.”
Stewart also addressed the possibility of the film being an adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven‘s Marvel Comics storyline “Old Man Logan,” joking that he’d like to see an aged Jackman.
“I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old,” Stewart said. “Damn him! He looks so great. I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics. He’ll make me look better if that’s the case.”
