Rumor: Spider-Man has multiple suits in ‘Captain America: Civil War’
A new rumor has Spidey sporting multiple suits in Civil War. It isn’t a really surprising development, if it is true. Seeing the superhero go from “homemade bunk suit” to “legit superhero suit” is a trope in pretty much every superhero movie.
Like so many other rumors, this one comes from Heroic Hollywood. According to their sources, Peter Parker will beginCaptain America: Civil War in a homemade version of the Spider-Man suit. However, the report continues, Peter will also get a snazzier new suit from Tony Stark / Iron Man near the end of the film.
That meshes with a couple of other stories that have been circulating lately. We previously heard Spidey would go for Team Iron Man in the upcoming Civil War storyline, so it’d make sense for Tony to hook him up with a new suit. Moreover, there have been conflicting reports about whether the new Spidey suit would be red and black or red and blue. If Spider-Man has more than one suit, it may be that both scenarios are true.
And while we initially assumed Spider-Man would just drop in for a small cameo in Captain America: Civil War, it now sounds like he has a more substantial role to play. Introducing a high-tech suit in Civil War could allow Marvel Studios to jump right into the Spider-Man standalone film with his iconic look already in place.
So, what will the new suits actually look like? ComicBook.com recently got word that “at least one” of the Spidey suits inCivil War would feature “an Avengers-friendly version of the traditional Spider-suit,” done up in “blue and red with black webs.” They additionally point out the blue is a darker shade, and could possibly have been mistaken for black.
If that blue and red suit is the one Tony gives Peter, it’s a departure from the comics. There, Tony creates an “Iron Spider” armor for Spider-Man which is red and gold, inspired by Iron Man’s own signature colors. However, we haven’t heard any rumors yet about a red-and-gold version of the Spidey suit.
