Oh Dip: ‘Final Fantasy XV’ apparently dropping next year
Apparently all my cynicism a couple of posts down can all be vaporized.
Final Fantasy 15 will finally launch next year, GameSpot reports.
Speaking with the publication at Gamescom, director Hajime Tabata said that the game won’t be released this year, but that fans can expect it before 2017.
“We can certainly say to people: it’s not going to be 2017,” Tabata said. “It’s going to be before that.”
As for a more specific release date announcement, Tabata pointed to PAX Prime, which takes place later this month.
“…We’ve set down the release date, we know when it is, and we’ve got a complete road map lined up, right up to launch, and we’re proceeding along that as planned,” Tabata said.
Final Fantasy 15, formerly known as Final Fantasy Versus 13, has been in development for nearly a decade. The game is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Earlier this week, Square Enix released a trailer that sets the stage for the game’s story.
