‘Spider-Man’ reboot casts Marisa Tomei as Aunt May
The cast for the Spider-Man reboot is beginning to take shape. The film has added none other than Marisa Tomei, casting the actress in the role of Aunt May. How you feeling about this choice? Personally, I’m down for Marisa Tomei in any film.
Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei will play Aunt May in Marvel and Sony‘s upcoming“Spider-Man” movie, Variety reports.
Although neither studio has comment on the story, the website contends the actress was made an offer to star opposite Tom Holland in the rebooted franchise.
The 19-year-old Holland was cast as Peter Parker just two weeks ago, with relative newcomerJon Watts (“Cop Car”) announced to direct.
Marvel and Sony are still on the hunt for a writer to join Watts on the screenplay. According to Variety’s “insiders,” executives first wanted to cast key actors who will appear in multiple films so schedules can be worked out before shooting begins next year.
Tomei, who won an Academy Award for her role in 1992’s “My Cousin Vinny,” will next been seen in “Train Wreck,” opposite Amy Schumer.
The new “Spider-Man” movie opens July 28, 2017.
