Marvel Studios shuffles four movie release dates in wake of Marvel Studios/Sony Spider-Pact
Now that Marvel Studios sort of/kind of own Spider-Man, they certainly aren’t going to cannibalize their own sales. In order to prevent themselves from doing this though, the studio finds themselves having to push around some release dates.
The freshly announced deal for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to share big-screen control of Spider-Man is seismic news in the entertainment world, and is already creating aftershocks. Marvel announced Monday night that with a new Spider-Man solo film now scheduled for July 28, 2017, four upcoming Marvel Studios films now have new release dates.
“Thor: Ragnarok,” originally slated for the same date as the new Spidey movie, has moved to Nov. 3, 2017. “Black Panther” will now be released on July 6, 2018. “Captain Marvel” moves to Nov. 2, 2018 and “Inhumans” will shift to July 12, 2019.
This is effectively a series of one movie taking the place of the previous one; “Black Panther” was originally in the November 2017 spot, “Captain Marvel” was slated for July 2018 and “Inhumans” was initially targeted for November 2018. Both halves of the two-part third installment of the “Avengers” franchise will stay put, with “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” scheduled for May 4, 2018 and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” scheduled for May 3, 2019
TRUTHFULLY? I had completely forgotten when these fucking movies were supposed to come out. I’d have to open up my TOP SECRET EXCEL SPREADSHEET. Tab over from the default tab open, “SCAT PORN WEBSITES WORTH THE DOUGH, AND DIET DEW AMAZON KITCHEN SHIPMENTS” to an equally important one, “COMIC BOOK MOVIE RELEASE DATES” and check. Can’t keep track of these fuckers anymore.
