‘True Detective’ News: Vince Vaughn confirmed, Justin Lin directing first 2 eps
Con-con-confirmations down your throat! Out of your nose. Cyclically. Forever. As you nod and accept it. Hot on the heels of Colin Farrell confirming his role in True Detective‘s second season comes news that Vinny Vaughn and Justin “Our Bro Love is Real” have had their participation nailed down.
Play List:
Just one day after Colin Farrell confirmed his casting, HBO has gone and made it official while revealing the first details on the hotly anticipated second season of “True Detective.”
Joining Farrell will be the long rumored Vince Vaughn, with the official logline revealing the basic outline of the story: Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.
As for the characters they’ll be playing, Farrell will take the role of Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him. Meanwhile, Vaughn is breaking bad as Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
Justin Lin will direct the first episodes of the season, and while there’s no word yet on the plethora of other names in the rumor mill for the show, HBO will announce them as they get signed. Production begins this fall and “True Detective” returns next summer. Until then, here’s a seven-minute tribute to the show.
Sounds fucking good. Let’s get them camera filming!
