Rosario Dawson cast in Marvel’s ‘DAREDEVIL’ TV show
Rosario Dawson has join the cast of Marvel and Netflix’s upcoming Corporate Synergy Butt Baby of love, Daredevil. This news is perfectly fine by me. My crush on Ms. Dawson has persisted at a quiet, unacknowledged simmer for over a decade now.
Daredevil’s supporting cast isn’t as well-known as that of characters like Batman or Superman, but anyone who even vaguely remembers the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie can at least name two: his nemesis, The Kingpin, and his love interest/attempted killer, Elektra. We already know that Vincent D’Onofrio will be stepping into the enormous white suit of the former for Netflix’s upcomingDaredevil series, and now we might know who will be trying to murder/fall in love with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock as the latter.
As announced by Marvel itself, Sin City’s Rosario Dawson will be joining Daredevilas a yet-unnamed character. All Marvel will say about her is that she’s “a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life,” adding that “her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city.” So she’s clearly going to be someone important to Murdock/Daredevil, plus she’s a woman, so it seems pretty likely that she’s going to be Elektra. Also, as proven by The Dark Knight Rises, you don’t cast someone famous (like, say, Marion Cotillard) to play a nobody (like, say, a random business lady) in a comic book adaptation. [AV Club]
