E3 2014: ‘Tomb Raider’ getting sequel, ‘RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER’, dropping in 2015
Tomb Raider is getting itself a sequel, and goddamn I’m happy about it. Like a litany of other games want to play though, the sequel is coming in 2015. Goddamn, I’m not happy about that.
Rise of the Tomb Raider, the sequel to 2013’s action-adventure game starring Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, was unveiled today at Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference.
A brief trailer for the game was shown today, in which Lara Croft struggles to deal with the deeds of her past.
The sequel takes place directly after a comic series announced in July 2013; as of last August, the developer was “well into development” on the game.
Tomb Raider is a reboot the franchise and follows a young, inexperienced Lara Croft as she embarks on her first adventure. The game is focused on shaping Lara into the hardened adventurer her character is known for.
Tomb Raider was released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, a remake for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, was revealed at the end of last year.
