‘MINECRAFT’ creator Notch drops new game, ‘CLIFFHORSE.’

Cliffhorse.

The mind behind Minecraft has dropped his latest game. Cliffhorse. In which you’re a horse, and you run around near cliffs and shit? The entire thing feels like Notch having a bit of fun with the gaming community. ‘Cause like. You gotta buy it with Dogecoin. And like. Cliffs. Horses.

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson launched a new game yesterday, Cliffhorse, his first title to see release since Minecraft.

Cliffhorse is currently available exclusively on Windows PC for free on its website, and players can choose to pay for it in Dogecoin. Notch refers to Cliffhorse as being in “early access,” although there is “no guarantee of future updates.”

In Cliffhorse, you play as a brown horse who trots around a hilly tropical island, pushing around a giant ball that vaguely resembles a cow with splotches of brown and white skin.

“I can’t believe this somehow ended up being my first commercial game after Minecraft,” said Notch on Twitter this morning. At the time, Notch addedCliffhorse had brought in revenue of 280,000 Dogecoin ($100).

Notch previously announced another post-Minecraft project, 0x10c, in April 2012, but indefinitely shelved the title in August 2013 after hitting a “weird creative block.” He also contributed to the creation and development of Mojang’s card battle game, Scrolls. [Polygon]
