Fox announces dates for ‘FANTASTIC FOUR 2’, ‘WOLVERINE’ sequel & MYSTERY MARVEL PROJECT
You know what they say. You can’t hold a flailing franchise down! I mean, fuck. Despite rumors that they may gut the entire fucking Fantastic Four corpse and start anew five months prior to filming (please keep Michael B. Jordan), Fox has already announced a date for the sequel. And the Wolverine sequel. And a “mystery” Marvel project.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s cohesive future is a wide-open question, but when it comes to 20th Century Fox, the studio’s Marvel plans are considerably more limited.
Still, Fox’s control over the “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four”franchises isn’t something to be ignored. In fact, the studio has plotted further installments in both series through 2018.Deadline reports that following 2015’s “Fantastic Four” reboot, the studio will release a sequel on July 14, 2017. Beyond that, “The Wolverine” will spawn a follow-up, arriving on March 3, 2017.
Beyond both of those pictures, there will be another undisclosed Marvel movie for release on July 13, 2018. No word on whether that movie will involve the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, or possibly even both super-groups.
For the immediate future, “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set for release on May 23, with “X-Men: Apocalypse” on deck for May 27, 2016. The new “Fantastic Four” movie will bow on June 19, 2015. [CBR]
