Anthony & Joe Russo returning to direct ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA 3.’

Like a month ago or some fuck, there was buzz that the Russo Bros were going to return to the Marvel Fold and direct Captain America 3: The US Is My Only Lover. Flash forward (making a fucking whoosh sound like you do, fools!) a month, and now the buzz has crystalized into fact.

Collider reports that “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo have been confirmed to return for the franchise’s third installment. Collider further confirmed the news with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige

“Well now that Kevin [Feige] said it that means we can talk about it, I guess,” Anthony Russo told Collider. “That’s great. We’re just in the formative stages of it right now.  We just started breaking story with [screenwriters Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely and we’re just getting an idea of what we wanna do with it.  It’s crazy working on it before the movie even comes out because you want to see what people respond to in the movie.  You want to get some inspiration from what people like about the film so you go, ‘Okay, this is what we gotta lean into in the next movie’ or ‘this is what we should move away from, this didn’t work so well.’  So we’re just in that phase of breaking story but waiting to see how people respond to the movie. Early buzz has Winter Soldier as the best Marvel movie yet. Like, out of any of them. High fucking praise! To the ceiling, through it, rocketing into the stratosphere levels of praise. But fuck — if the movie can even sniff that sort of level, I’m fucking glad they’re bringing back the team that made it happen.
