Harold Ramis Has Passed Away. Ghostbummer
What sweet shit is this? Perhaps a sign that me and my generation is aging; people we love are dying and the initial “how can that possibly be?” is met with “well they weren’t exactly young.” But still – Harold Ramis? Fuck.
Harold Ramis, who wrote Meatballs, and Ghostbusters, and who wrote and directedCaddyshack, Animal House, and Groundhog Day, has died at age 69, according to theChicago Tribune. Despite those achievements, Ramis is best known for playing Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, where he provided the essential straight-man character to anchor the team that also included Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
Ramis died as a result of complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels. He had been struggling with health issues since 2010.
